Laser hair removal also known as phototricholysis (medical term) is a technique to get rid of unwanted hair from body and face. It s a light-based hair removal technique also known as photoepilation which is used to remove hair with a hand-held device using light between two points in the same phase in consecutive cycles of wave. The device generate heat to damage the hair follicle or the excess hair can damage mechanically too.
These days laser hair removal technique has become the most popular technique to remove excess hair from any part of the body. Lasers expel the hair from the skin by absorbing melanin (dark pigment) from the shaft of the follicle with the help of low-energy wavelength. This procedure is not so much painful. This treatment has also reported to be very beneficial for pilonidal cysts (denoting the presence of hair in a dermoid cyst or in a sinus opening on the skin) that may cause problems in this congenital malformation.
