Hair removal can be a touchy subject for a lot of people.

Over the course of time there are many people who have looked for a way to do away with hair on certain parts of their body but they have failed on the larger scale.

Well this is very common because not everything is going to work. There are things that may be urban legends that are quite dangerous.

There was a rumor going around many years ago that gasoline will cause hair to die in certain areas and people should use it as a hair removal method. Well you can imagine that many of the people who used this particular method were extremely hurt when something went wrong.

For the most part there is nothing that the gasoline will do but cause severe irritation to the skin. If you smoke then you will cause even more damage.

So lets take a look at some of the most popular methods for hair removal and see which one would work best for you.

Shaving

This is the most common of all the methods for hair removal. Shaving has been the main way that most people have gotten rid of hair over the years. The main problem that people have with shaving is that the hair will almost start to grow back right away.

Some people have to shave certain areas of the body every day and some people even more. For the facial hair, it seems that there are those out there that will have to shave more than once a day. So you have that along with the idea that this method can cause some serious irritation.

Waxing

Waxing has long been around as a method for hair removal. Removing hair using the hot wax method is painful but it is highly effective to say the least. You will be taking the hair out by the roots on the regular basis and it will take a lot longer for the hair to return then it would with the shaving idea.

However, some people can not handle the pain that comes along with it. Not only do you have the pain of the hot wax being put on the skin but also the fact that you are ripping the hair out with the hot wax and strips of paper.

Sugar Wax

Sugar waxing is the common form of home waxing. The sugar based product is not a hot wax but a cool solution that is used. Most people prefer this method because it is not nearly as painful in the beginning.

There is also the fact that it is about one third the price of having the standard waxing performed in the salon. There is still the pain that comes along with the idea of the strips being pulled off and many people complain that the sugar system is not as effective.

Lastly you have plucking and bleaching. With plucking you are doing nothing more than pulling the hair out with a pair of tweezers. As for bleaching you are not actually removing the hair but actually just making it a very light color and making it unnoticeable.
